tequila wounds

I consume calories liquid,
Drink after drink after

Tequila wounds
Shots bloody.

Teeth clinking against
Shattered glass:
Kaleidoscope reflections and
Cotton candy numbness.

I laugh too loud,
Atone to the sanctity of amber
Peel off my skin
Drop it to the ground, onto
The sticky spill of sugar
Let the flesh stain with
Cigarette ash, cold

Tongue heavy with ghosts.

You want another, darling?
I’ll take two.
I’ll take two.
