I went to a salsa class for the first time last night; when I would find my reflection in the mirror I had something of that deer-caught-in-headlights look, and I kept introducing myself to my dance partners by adding “and I am a terrible dancer” right after my name, but I had fun. Step, foot, step.
We rented paddle boards this morning and the guy looked at us wierd, because it was misty outside and the ocean was covered in grey. I had never paddled before this, and so he showed me how to hold my ore and maximize my balance. I fell more than a couple of times, and my knees are bruised, but it was so nice. SUP, unexpectedly, is both more intense and calmer than I ever imagined it to be.
I saw an entire soccer match today for the second time in my life; my first one live, rather than from a screen. I don’t know the slightest thing about football; I didn’t understand much, but I wasn’t for a moment bored. I was wrapped up in sweaters and laughed at the others’ commentary and settled deeper into my seat once it began to rain.
